Gus passed! He was
graded "excellent." For a golden male to be therapy
certified at 16 mos. is amazing.. Thank you for this
gorgeous (someone
there said he should pass on looks alone), sweet. boy.
Gus visited Newark Beth Israel's child crisis
intervention services unit on Monday; it is a
pediatric/psychiatric
unit for 18 children, 4 - 18 yrs old, and he was
terrific! Also, Gus did a hospice visit.
So, now Nick (Pictured below) can get a little break;
I'll rotate them, except for the school for
autistic children, which takes a mature dog with
experience.

Loghan
has picked up a couple more UDX legs for
a total of four, more OTCH points, and
many more placements in both Open B and
Utility B Classes. Loghan continues to
show that he can compete at a very high
level and do it consistently, though we
have certainly had our less-than-stellar
moments, too! The high point of the
past month (and perhaps Loghan’s and my
obedience careers!) was the early-April
trial down in Springfield when the
placements in the highest level class
(Utility B) were as follows (out of a
possible 200 points):
1st Place: 199 (the current
National Obedience Champion – an OTCH
dog!!)
2nd
Place: 198.5+ (Loghan – the only Novice
A dog in the whole class!!!!)
3rd Place: 198.5 (we had a runoff
for 2nd & 3rd Place, which we won)
4th Place: 198 (the current
National Obedience 4th Runner-up who is
also an OTCH dog)
Pictured
above ~ March 13, 2009 Collie Club of
New Hampshire Obedience Trial at
American K9 Country (Utility B Class –
Loghan placed second with a 197.5. First
Place went to a Judge-handled OTCH dog
with a 198.) |
More coming
soon...
